So, Who’s Behind Clean Reads & Cozy Sips?
Well, hello there. I’m Vikki Lynn.
And if you’ve made it all the way to the About page, I’m guessing you’d like to know a little more about the person behind the books, the reviews, and probably more than a few cups of coffee.
Fair warning: I’m not particularly good at writing polished little biographies about myself.
I’d much rather sit across from you at the kitchen table and tell you the truth.
I Came Back to Reading
For a long time, reading fiction was something I loved but somehow lost along the way.
Life got busy. Work happened. Kids grew up. Responsibilities multiplied. And somewhere in all of that, the books I once loved became something I kept meaning to get back to.
Then I did.
And rediscovering fiction in this season of my life has been a surprisingly meaningful experience.
Not because books suddenly became more important than everything else, but because I remembered that there are things we are allowed to enjoy simply because they bring us joy.
Reading became one of those things for me again.
I’m a Reader, But I’m Also a Real Person
I’m a mom. A grandmother. A daughter. A friend. A writer who is still figuring out what that means.
I’m also someone who has lived enough life to know that none of us have everything figured out.
There are good seasons and difficult ones. Seasons when I read constantly and seasons when the book sits on my nightstand while life gets in the way.
There are books I absolutely love.
There are books I finish and think, “Well…that was interesting.”
And there are books I probably should have abandoned around chapter five but stubbornly kept going because I needed to know how the story ended.
I suspect I’m not the only reader who has done that.
Why Clean Reads Matter to Me
I’ve become much more intentional about the kinds of stories I choose to spend my time with.
I want clean, no-spice fiction, but I don’t want stories that feel sanitized or predictable.
I still want mystery.
I want complicated characters.
I want stories that make me laugh, wonder, cry, or stay up later than I intended.
I want old houses with secrets, historical settings, unexpected twists, complicated family relationships, gentle ghosts, and characters who feel like actual people.
And I want to know what I’m getting into before I start reading.
That’s part of why I try to be thoughtful and honest in my reviews. My goal isn’t to tell you what you should read.
It’s to give you enough information to decide whether you want to read it.
The Person Outside the Books
When I’m not reading, I’m probably crocheting something I absolutely did not need to start.
I love cozy things, seasonal decorating, quiet evenings, family time, and finding little pockets of happiness in ordinary days.
I’m also writing my own fiction, which is both exciting and mildly terrifying.
There’s something humbling about spending years reading other people’s books and then looking at a blank page and thinking, “Okay…now you do it.”
My first novel will be a clean, faith-centered paranormal story, and I’m taking the writing journey one step at a time.
You can follow that journey here through My Writing Journey, where I’m documenting the process as it actually happens rather than pretending I arrived knowing exactly what I was doing.
A Few Things You Should Probably Know
I don’t believe you need to read a certain number of books to call yourself a reader.
I don’t think reading should become another competition.
I don’t care if you read five books this year or fifty.
I don’t think every book needs to be a five-star experience.
And I definitely don’t think we need to agree about every book.
That’s part of the fun.
You may love a book I didn’t.
I may rave about a book that leaves you completely unimpressed.
And that’s okay.
There are enough books in the world for all of us to find the stories that feel like ours.
So, Why This Little Corner?
Because I wanted a place where books could be talked about without all the pressure.
A place for honest reviews.
A place for readers who love clean fiction.
A place for conversations about books that don’t feel like a competition.
A place where a cup of coffee, a comfortable chair, and a good story are considered a perfectly reasonable way to spend an afternoon.
And maybe, somewhere along the way, you’ll find a book that becomes a favorite.
Or discover an author you hadn’t read before.
Or simply sit here for a few minutes and feel like you’ve found your people.
That’s enough for me.
If you’d like to see what I’m currently reading, you can browse my Book Reviews or wander over to the Reader’s Corner for more of my reading life.
You can also find me sharing my current reads over on Instagram.
So welcome.
I’m glad you’re here.
